School Improvement Plan
2024-25
Goal 1
By June 2025, 65% of students with disabilities will achieve a passing score on the EOC Reading and Writing tests and 100% of identified students will complete the Lexia Power Up individualized plans and demonstrate at least 1 level of growth from their diagnostic exams in 2 out of 3 domains.
Goal 2
By June 2025, all students will reduce the failure rate on the EOC Biology test by 10%.
Goal 3
York High School will increase overall IB enrollment by 10% next year while retaining all 11th and 12th grade students, 65% of sophomores and 80% of freshmen.
Goal 4
During the 2024/2025 school year, York High School will build capacity in current general education and special education staff by providing ongoing professional development on Specially Designed Instruction. Staff will attend at least two professional development sessions led by SBO staff and implement a minimum of three new practices/strategies.
Goal 5
During the 2024-2025 school year, YHS staff will collaborate during bi-weekly PLC meetings to analyze data using common assessments and create highly engaging lessons. Focus should be placed on planning for tier 2 instruction especially for SWD.
* 100% of all PLC meetings in Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, English 9, 10, and 11, Algebra I and Geometry , and World History I and World Geography will include discussion of assessments and student data through the usage of the four PLC questions.
* 100% of all PLC meetings will include discussion of strategies and planning that include tier 2 instruction.
Goal 6
YHS will continue to reduce the percentage of chronically absent students and maintain the chronic absenteeism rate at or below 11%.
