About
Dr. Shannon Butler, principal
The mission of York High School is to provide each student with the opportunity to fulfill learning potential and to reinforce values of personal responsibility and accountability. Our diverse and rigorous curriculum is designed to engage and support students while preparing them for post high-school experiences.
Located in the historic Yorktown area of York County, YHS first opened its doors in 1954 and had an inaugural graduating class of 41 students.
Our rich history fosters a culture of tradition and excellence that resonates with Falcons long beyond their commencement. When the school celebrated its 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee, more than 2,000 alumni from across the country returned for the celebration.
We welcome you to visit our school - we would love to have you join the Falcon family!
